I use my computer to store stuff, when I could make money with that stuff
As I research keywords and products for my sites, I use my computer to file the information under each subject so I can find it easily. Programs and PDF's get filed in a similar way
Problems start happening when you put everything in the one file and do not keep an index. Things can become very messy and even though you know you have a good product you can use to make money with, you have to remember the name and where you left it. Ouch!
I use my computer to do a search for the subject or phrases you remember from the product until you find the item. I then remove it from the location it is in and place it in an organized folder. Having your products sorted into groups of items makes finding a subject much easier than sifting through huge lists of items, especially when the title does not always tell you what the content of the item is.
I have a friend who teaches Website development for free and he has many training Videos and PDFs that I have downloaded. I use my computer to store these valuable training programs and as I download each one I use the computer to re label them so they are in order. It makes finding the right video and PDF an easy task and I can follow along and take notes easily and find the same item again because I have used the computer to keep every thing in order.
I hope you are able to organize your stuff on your computer by taking note of how I use my computer and I hope you make money from the stuff you find on your computer

Using My New Computer to Rebuild All My Sites
After making no money from the internet, I have had to re think what I am doing having websites up if they are not going to make me some income. I know how to set up sites, how to get targeted traffic, and how to produce good informative sites and products. I have been studying for some time, but I have never managed to put all I know together.
You know the scenario, you get side tracked going through email, the latest get rich thing that costs a fortune to join. Well enough is enough and I took down all my sites and I am redesigning a whole new concept of sites.
New hosting, new autoresponder, my new products, new everything! Fresh new ideas, following all the good SEO tactics to set up my sites. Each site is using a CMS and plugins to suit each site and SEO wordpress blogs to promote each of the sites.
As I am somewhat broke I have to do it all myself, but luckily I am not a total novice any more and I have some idea of what to do this time round. Each step is documented and yes there have been problems getting all my domains under one roof, and dealing with people who have no idea what they are doing. Lucky I do and I will not let people pull a fast one on me again. I have a plan and until I succeed there is no going back.
This first step in my plan is to get my first six websites paying, with a loyal team of followers. Offer unique content and fun sites, lots to do, not stagnant affiliate sites. You can't wait can you!
Well it won't get done if I stay here talking to you. Back to using the computer to rebuild my sites.
I will be back,
Sarah

I use my computer to do Research for the New Website
The main website is a sales page for many programs and my members area is designed to show my down line, or anyone for that matter, how to add targeted content to their websites and produce a website that will get much more targeted traffic from the search engines.
The idea is to build many revenue streams that link to your site based on niche themes relevant to your website. A big mouthful, but given simple guidelines new people with no knowledge can learn and share their experiences.
The members area is also a social area where members can team up and help each other, promote each others products or bounce ideas around.
The main aim is to show people the simple things to help them get started. how to add content or a banner to an existing website. How to add a Blog or an article site or forum. How to track your sites performance. How to edit graphics or add videos.
How to research top keywords and find the kind of subjects people want information on. The most important way to get good listings in the search engines is to target high traffic keyword phrases with little or no competition and produce quality information relevant to that topic. You then need to get your article listed and linked back to your website.
My research has shown me that not a lot of people know how to write an article, let alone a series of articles and a hugely lesser amount of people know about targeted keyword phrases for their articles or websites.
My research has shown me that there are many people who have no idea how to produce a simple web page, or add simple scripts to their page, but with the use of WYSIWYG editors you do not need to know a great Deal to produce a website. Yes it may take time to get your site exactly how you want it, but it is worth the effort.
So many Hosts have everything you need all ready set up on the servers, so all you have to do is click in to Fantastico to add a word press Blog, which is the simplest way to build a website. You can go on to add Hypervre sites to your site, or if you are more adventurous you can add shopping carts to sell items, bookstores, membership sites and much more.
My aim is to show people how, and it is free. If I forget how to do something, produce a video, find the right research places, use my autoresponder I have a ready to go resource to use with all the instructions there. If this could help me then it could help thousands of other people too.
What do I get out of it? I get to learn from others as they learn from me. There is no expectation that anyone will buy any thing, as I have tried to put all the resources, many free, directly on the site. You can download a free WYSIWYG editor, and many of the resources have a trial version that will get you started. Many of the Programs that you can join are free, and I show you how to use them. There is no use having a program if you do not know how to use it, so as time permits I plan to put together a series of videos showing you how to use those programs we use.
I have many of thousands of products available if there is something you need, so yes I would like it if you spent a dollar once in a while, the choice is yours.
As I use my computer for Research for the New Website, I notice that new people interested in making some income on the Internet are getting treated unfairly. What may seem like a silly question to some people in the know, may be a simple question to someone who does not know and they deserve to get a straight answer. I have seen these poor people get treated very badly, I have also been the victim of this sarcasm and there is no need for it. I hope to give my members total respect as I would like from them.
I still have a long way to go to get my site ready, but from what I see, It can't be too soon.
Hang in there Team, because I hope to give you a resource you will want to come back to over and over again.
Best wishes Sarah-Ann McLeod.

To use my computer for internet, I need speed.
For two years I worked with my trusty laptop, handy to cart around and light enough to take anywhere, but! As the months went by it got slower and slower, no cleaning or defraging would get it to go any faster, even spider solitaire slowed right down to a click--click --click, so sad. Mind you I have had it working day and night for the last two years.
Yesterday I picked up my new PC, turned it on after carefully reading every instruction as I got it out of the box. Whamo! it came to life in seconds, loaded a few programs, Wizz bang! and it was done. It has 2Gb of ram, a 500 Gb of storage I haven't got used to Vista yet, but I had the internet going in no time, my portable hard drive that I used with the laptop works wonderfully and last night my younger son, his girlfriend and I watched "Iceage" in brilliant color on the wide screen monitor. I have access to my websites again!
With any new computer, now comes the hard work of setting up the computer, of course I'll set it up better than the laptop and planning which programs to keep and which to discard is hard. My compassion is websites and designing good sites takes a lot of background work, graphics, ebooks, video and audio, html, templates, banners, keyword research, article research, niche research, submitting, promoting and guess what, there is a program for every thing. How many printers do I have? Which digital camera had the good graphics program? Back up the old email for taxation purposes, and how do I transfer my email client list? What about my Skype contacts?
Luckily I saved all my program files on the portable hard drive and all I have to do is execute them all again, find passwords again, and o-oh! did I keep notes on every program in my "notes on sites" file? Working on the internet, whether for fun or business means keeping up with many many things and as you will find out too if you ever have to change computers it takes many programs and files to organize.
Lucky for me all my Web site membership sites, passwords and logins have been saved in a program I had built last year, just for that job. It can be saved and loaded over the freshly loaded program. When you have hundreds of sites and affiliate programs to watch you need such software. Just in case you were wondering, a copy will be available when my new site is released, just as soon as I can get this computer into action.
The laptop is not lost forever, it will have every program removed, especially internet security which uses a lot of energy and get a new tune up so I can use my computer as a simple notebook for library research or the family tree. As for the old IBM, there are a pair of little girls next door who may get a beginners computer for Christmas.
Enough talking, I have to use my computer to get my new website finished, I have been Googled all ready and now rank 7th for one keyword phrase, with no advertising or back links and I bet you all can't wait to learn more.
HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY and think of me working away using my computer to finish your new free information membership site for people who Work from Home. In fact anyone with a website or blog will find the information I am putting together for you very handy.

I use my computer to Bookmark my "Web Page" so the World knows it exists
There are many Bookmarking Sites, but the one that comes highly recommended is Social Poster. Social Poster has 40 different sites on its list, and they make it easy for you to join, login and post links. You only have to put your information in once and the site fills in the details for every bookmarking site.
This may take a little time to set up, especially if you have a few pages you want posted, but consider your page will now be visable to all the users in that bookmarking site x40. If you add a email to friends link on your website as well, consider how quickly you will get visitors and links to your site and how quickly you will get indexed by the Search Engine.
I have Sarahsworkshop social posted, as well as my Plug-In Profit page and many of my affiliate sites as well.
This is how I take an exiting site and use my computer to add tracking
First you will need your own Website, sales page or even a blog like this. If you don't have a website, I recommend you seriously sign-up for a Plug-In Profit site, you can modify it to suite your needs and it has all the training you need to get you started. Take a look at my SarahPlugInProfit site. I have many modifications in progress which you will be able to follow by clicking here regularly.
Second you will need to go to Google Analytics or a similar tracking site and sign-up for an account, add the website URL and you are given a code to add to the end of your webpage, just before the end tags. /body I use my computer to log in to the website WebePanel, using a separate tab, and select the page I want to track in the file manager and clicking on the edit articles icon. The page will open in a text editor. Go to the bottom of the page and just before the /body tag paste the code(the code is in < > tags). You can save the page and you simply go back to your Google Analytics page click the button to let them know you have placed the code. Within 24hours or less you will start to see results.
You can see how simple it was for me to use my computer to add a simple link to the webpage that will be a most important information tool.

I use my computer and Wordtracker to find the top keyword phrases
Wordtracker is a great program, balanced with Google search to help you decide if a certain phrase is worth trying, or if you should expand into another refined niche.
I would suggest you give it a try.

Welcome to Sarah's Workshop Blog
This special note is to welcome all my team mates in the 30 day challenge this year. It is an event worth participating in. Ed will show you all the new techniques to make money on the Internet, and it does not matter if you have any experience or not, Ed will teach you all you need to know. Those of you who have sites need to be part of this challenge too. You will learn so much, and learn to promote your site as well. Remember your forum posts links to your site if you set your signature file correctly.
Our team, the "Outback Anzac's" is made up from members in Australia and New Zealand. We have had a good start to the challenge, and an informative preseason meeting. Welcome Guys!
While we are participating in this years challenge, I have my website "Sarahsworkshop" to promote and upgrade, so you get the latest news and information. I have a new "Mega Store" I am promoting and check out my new "CB-Top site".
I also use my computer to build and test my new websites. You will be the first to know when they will be online, if you follow this blog.
If you have an idea for a website, you will need to produce a search engine friendly site and add as many programs and products to make that site pay. One piece of software that I recommend you try, to build "content rich" websites with AdSense and affiliate programs added is HyperVRE. Check out all the features of the software, watch the videos and download a free copy of the software to practice building your own content rich sites.
Hypervery Gold requires you to have affiliate accounts with Clickbank, Amazon Associates and PayDotCom. Each company has thousands of products for sale and you can make anything from 4% to 75% commission. You won't get a commission from your own sales, but you can make a fair living from just selling affiliate products.

Sarah's Workshop will have a new site up soon.
I have taken the theme of Work, Shop and Play for this Sarahsworkshop site and rolled it into one big Information site for the whole family.
As work ethics start at a young age, I start my "Work area" with an Education Page with resources that can be used by all ages, and links to recommended educational sites from preshcool to Uni students.
The Work area is a training workshop for Work from Home people. I show you how to get started on the Web and give you access to many resources and information to help you promote your site or links. These resources are available to all web users to use. Why go to hundreds of sites to try and find information, when you can link to all the resources you need from one site.
After a hard day at work, you may need to do a little shopping, so I have added a Shop from home area, With links to the a few of the best Shopping Sites and I have a little book shop of my own with a few unique items due for release soon which will only be available from my Book Shop.
Once all the hard work and shopping is done, you need to relax, unwind, take your mind off the many things you have been doing all day, so I added a Play area. There are things for all the family, from a safe games page for the little kids, News, Sports, Music, Games, and many more.
You will be introduced to my new "Web Surfing Backpack" program, I had made to save your favorite Web pages in. The program has password security and two modes, so parents or trainers can set up programs and by using "user mode" the users can link to the sites in the program, with out touching any of your details. I used the Web Surfing Backpack to save all my sites while I have been building this new Sarah's Workshop site, and I could not do without it.
You will be able to follow the process of my own Home Workshop, as I develop my unique Thylacine Collection. As the collection become available they will only be available online through my Workshop Site. If you don't know what these elusive Tasmanian animals are, you will be able to get all the information on my new site.
I will keep you informed on the progress of the new Sarah's Workshop site, for now I use my computer localhost program to develop the site.
You can view my first Sarah's Workshop site at http://www.sarahsworkshop.com/ It also caters for the work at home person, but with a totally different feel, and totally different information. It is a large site, so be prepared to spend some time there to get the most from the site.
Thankyou for reading and come back soon
Sarah

I use my computer to promote my website, it is so Important
To get traffic to your website, you need to advertise. There are many ways to advertise, from Word of Mouth to a Fully Paid Advertising Campaign, but what if you don't have the money to pay for advertising, your just starting out or you simply can't afford to pay, then here are a few ways to get your message out there.
You can promote your site or offer with a blog, like this one, writing your own interesting articles, adding your own photos or comments to interesting items you found on the web, which relate to the site you promote. Writing a blog is not enough, you need to let the world know what you have posted, you need to ping your site. What's That! When you have your Blog pinged, your blog information is sent out to many sites, and lets the blog search engines know your site exists.
I have used two Blog Pinging sites, there are others, the first is at Pingomatic and the other is at Pingoat. I also have my Blog listed at Technorati this site has an excellent search feature, to help people find the information and blogs that they are interested in. There are many such sites.
Another fun way to promote your website, is with traffic exchange. The principal of traffic exchange is that you look at other peoples sites or advertising, in exchange for having your site advertised. It doesn't sound all that interesting, but these sites have interesting ways of making it fun, and I have lernt so much from looking at these sites. You can choose the subject that you are interested in, so the sites are relevant to your likes, and every so often you find a site that you find extremely useful. It is free to sign up for these sites, and if you need extra adds, then you may sign up for extra packages.
The last way of getting Free Advertising, is to get a program that allows free advertising. Megapromoter is not free to join, but the one time fee gives you free advertising, free products, way more value than the cost. You become a member of their forum, so you can ask and get help setting up your adds, you get a choice to sell their many products and make money, and you can get free traffic to your site. Have a look at what is on offer, and even if you decide not to buy Megapromoter, there is a free info pack on advertising, well worth your trouble for looking.
I hope this will give you some information to help you advertise your site.

The Internet Knows What You'll Do Next, article
This article, by David Leonhardt, is about the introduction of Google Trends, and the new way we now can find information on Internet searches.
Here are a few snippets:
A FEW years back, a technology writer named John Bagatelle began talkingabout how the Internet had made it possible to predict the future. When people went to the home page of Google or Yahoo and entered a few words into a search engine, what they were really doing, he realized, was announcing their intentions.
A few weeks ago, Google took a big step toward changing this — toward making the database of intentions visible to the world — by creating a product called Google Trends. It allows you to check the relative popularity of any search term, to look at how it has changed over the last couple years and to see the cities where the term is most popular. And it's totally addictive.
You will find the artical at
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/05/business/05leonhardt.html
As I use my computer a lot for research, I have added Google Trends to my toolbar. It it handy to know what the percentage of traffic for a keyword is, so to extend on this information, I recommend you also try Wordtracker to compair your keyword phrases. You need to know if you are going to get traffic for a given phrase.
When I use my computer for searching the Web, Search Toolbars & Utilities help save time.
This is a great page from Search Engine Watch, great tools to help you surf the Web.

Search Toolbars & Utilities
By Danny Sullivan, Editor-In-ChiefJanuary 27, 2004
There are a variety of ways you can search and navigate the web without first going directly to a search engine.Search toolbars provide direct access to search engines from within your browser, while meta search utilities make it easy to search more than one search engine at the same time. Search companions often helpyou "discover" information as you browse pages on the web.

I aim to use my computer to be an e-entrepreneur
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy
Author of "Dotcomology - The Science of Making Money Online"
These days, it seems like everyone wants to work from home and make money on the Internet. But before you even turn on your computer, the first question you have to ask yourself is whether you’re cut out for this kind of work.
The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t for everyone. Some people like the commute. They really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what to do, and they like the routine of working nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think they’re nuts.
More reasonably, there are people who are concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.
I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?
For me, what happened was creating a successful, self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t happen without effort. It didn’t happen without at least some initial investment of both time and money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now without me making sure that the taxes are filed and the paperwork is done. But it happened.
I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my business makes. If you’re prepared to give an e-business the time, the work and the money it needs to get started and get growing, it can happen for you too.
